Mon. 2/4 from 9:00AM-2:00PM- Albany: No SGEIS – No Regs – No Fracking NY: It’s the 11th hour in the fight against fracking. We are faced with a February 13 do or die deadline when the revised Environmental Impact Statement (SGEIS) will or will not appear in the DEC’s Environmental Notice Bulletin. The SGEIS legally has to age 10 days in order to issue the final Findings Statement and final regulations (the ones we recently commented on) by Feb 27. We need to voice to the Governor that the power of our movement is growing and that allowing fracking in New York would be the fatal mistake of his political career.

Tues. 2/5 from 11:45AM-2:00PM- Binghamton: Rally- Don’t Frack Our Health!  With the health of Southern Tier residents at stake, Governor Cuomo called for a health study on fracking, which consisted of 25 hours of scientist’s time. The results of this have been kept secret, and he is set to move ahead with fracking with no public input. Our health and that of our families is worth more than a secret, rushed study!  We will meet at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Social Hall at 11:45 am for a rally and press conference. Speakers will include Dr. Sandra Steingraber and others!

Wed. 2/6 from 12:00PM-1:00PM- NYC: DEC Office RallyJoin Occupy the Pipeline for an action at the New York City DEC Office.  The purpose of the protest is to call on DEC employees to follow their conscience, resist the SGEIS process from within the DEC, and become whistleblowers; to deliver signed copies of the Pledge of Resistance.  1 Hunter’s Point Plaza 47-40 21st Street, Long Island City, NY 11101
